This guide provides essential information on securing your Greenhood wallet. Safety and personal responsibility are key to ensuring a secure experience on the platform. There are now two ways to secure your Greenhood account:
- through a seed phrase (a unique key consisting of 12 words)
- through a unique PIN code.
This guide focuses on PIN code & biometric authentication.
Turning on PIN code and biometric authentication
1. Go to Settings > Access (PIN/Biometric)
2. Enter a PIN code to protect your wallet
3. Re-enter the PIN code
4. Enable biometric unlocking
Press OK and then click "Enable Biometric Unlocking" if you wish to use it
5. Using Biometric authentication
If you have enabled biometric authentication, you will receive a message confirming it. You will see a face icon appear at the bottom left of the keyboard, which you can tap to use biometric authentication. Click OK to continue.
6. Using Authentication
PIN code and biometric authentication (if enabled)are now activated. Greenhood will now ask for authentication when you open the app and when you want to view/change your settings. To use biometric authentication, click on the face icon at the bottom left. Greenhood will ask for permission to use Face ID when using biometric authentication for the first time. Click "Allow."
Turning off PIN and biometric authentication
You can now turn off PIN & biometric authentication by selecting the "Remove PIN Code" field or the "Disable Biometric Unlock" field in the settings/access screen (PIN/Biometric).
1. Go to Settings/Access (PIN/Biometric)
2. Disable biometric unlocking
Press "Disable biometric unlocking". Your biometric security will be turned off, but your PIN code will remain active. Press “Ok”.
3. Disable automatic lock
You will now have to enter your PIN code again to access the settings menu. Enter your PIN code and then press "Remove lock" You will receive a notification that the PIN code has been removed. Biometric security will also be disabled immediately if it was activated.
